The Garden

Growing from the therapeutic gardening programme at Room to Heal,
The Garden is a series of 5 prints containing over 100
hand-cut paper stencils.

“What I find important is that as I do gardening, seeing flowers
or crops growing, it gives me hope to live life”

Room to Heal is a human rights charity based in London. Their mission is to support people who have survived torture and organised violence to rebuild their lives in exile.

The prints were created through drawing at Mildmay Community Centre, Culpeper Community Garden and The Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew, alongside workshops at Room to Heal and made by Martha and Catherine Orbach.

The Garden was commissioned by The Open Society Foundation in London 2016.
